Recently, the country star was asked by Larry King on his show about her thoughts concerning the mounting gossip of Jessica Simpson's weight problem.
Dolly was quick to defend Jess saying that she knew her after they recorded a song together a few months back. Dolly was full of praise for the budding country singer and told Larry that Jess was 'a good girl' and the media just loves to say bad things about Jess. When asked further about the media's part on this, Dolly said firmly, "Tell em' they need to shut the hell up."
She went on to say, "I know how people feel when they're put in the same situation because I've been there myself."
